" prone to wander,
Lord i feel it,
prone to leave the God i love.
here's my heart, o take and seal it,
seal it for Thy courts above."
{ a line from one of my favorite hymns (come thou fount)
that really struck a chord with me as i sang it earlier tonight at church. it always does. }

What a great thing to remember tonight. Oftentimes we feel like we can't stray but we are so weak and we need Him every day to take our hearts.
Thank you Jesus! (And you for reminding all of us!)
I love that hymn! And yes, I totally feel you on this.
That's definitely my favorite hymn
i can't sing this song without crying. ever. even (especially) when i sang it at my brother's wedding earlier this year. it is ABSOLUTELY one of my favorite hymns.
That's one of our favorites too... Linnea loves it. The theology and poetry of the hymn is breathtaking. Where was that photo taken? For some reason I'm thinking Montana...
"heres my heart o take and seal it"
oooo
make my bones chilled. the way the music pauses a few beats before this line.
love this song too.
thanks for sharing
That's me and my sister's favorite hymn too...I always loved the second phrase, "...tune my heart to sing they praise" because I play violin. I have to be intentional about praising God, and make sure my life is in tune with His Word if I am to really truly be able to praise Him.
you must pop over and enter for the cute vintage bag, it would suit you :)
Oh yes. this is one my favorite lines too. It always churns something up inside me because it's so true. Good stuff. xo
Thanks for posting this. It's one of my favorite hymns as well, and I needed to hear it today.
i've always loved that line too. because boy, i definitely do feel prone to wander...
