Good Tunes :: First Aid Kit.

I've been meaning to share this band with you guys for awhile. I first discovered them from this lovely lady and am pretty much obsessed now. Their music seems to encapsulate for me the momentousness of being on the cusp of a huge life change (i.e. moving our lives to an unfamiliar place, away from our families, likely out West). The first time I listened all the way through their album The Lion's Roar (which is altogether stunning), we were driving through the misty, rugged mountains outside of Portland & absolutely in awe of the beauty and wonder. It is crazy the immensity of emotions that well up when I listen to it now, particularly this song. My heart expands and my eyes well up with tears every time without fail. I feel the enormity of what this year is to bring, and it is intensely beautiful and gut-wrenching at the same time.

Please believe me, it is worth taking a couple minutes to listen to (as is their album worth the $10 on iTunes). Hope it gives you warm fuzzies.

Have you discovered any new music lately that has blown you away? Would love some recommendations! My hubby just bought Widowspeak & I can already tell I'm going to fall in love.. it's like a mix between Mazzy Star & Tennis (googly eyes).
