Conehead

So, it turns out that the damage to our living room ceiling wasn't as earth-shattering as I made it out to be, though it was by no means a pleasant sight (or pleasant to clean up!):

No worries. Good 'ol Rudy came over a couple days later and fixed it all by himself (exactly what I was afraid of). It looks just slightly better than when it was caving in... but, well, at least it's fixed.

Our poor little baby, Maggs, got fixed this past Thursday, and I got a sneak peek of motherhood when he woke me up on the hour crying. Poor little guy. It was really tough because all I could do was hug and pet him. He needed a lot of comforting. I am SO glad that he his doing much better now. He doesn't seem to be in pain anymore. However, he does still have a ridiculous plastic cone around his head to keep him from licking his balls (what? that is what it's for). He has to keep it on until those little guys are healed, three to six more days. I CANNOT wait to take it off and give him his freedom back. He is going to go berserk! I am also excited to walk him/ let him play in the backyard because in the meantime, we are supposed to minimize his activity. I can't help but laugh at how ridiculous he looks with that cone of his on. He's adjusted to it quite well so far, although he is frequently ramming into my shins with it and has some difficulty getting through doorways. It has become his new chew toy... at least he has found some enjoyment out of it!

Not a whole lot more to update ya'll on. Locked myself out of the house a second time today.. (I grabbed my purse, lunch, even remembered my yarn & knitting needles to keep myself occupied at work, but forgot my freaking keys). Luckily, after over half an hour of hanging out on my porch in the dead of winter, my dear friend Maggie's husband Zack was able to rescue me from the cold and drive me to work. Joel gets the privilege of picking me up tonight:) Another mishap of today: Joel got stuck in our driveway on his way out to school. I was in the middle of my shower when he started banging violently on the door for my help. It is never a fun time being out in the cold with sopping wet hair. Luckily, he still managed to make it on time for his first group counseling session (as a co-leader). Woo. We are a mess, I know. That's just how we roll.

I posted a new pair of earrings in my Etsy shop today :) Expect to see an abundance of new items within the next couple of weeks. I am pretty pumped about some new creations in the works :D

I just can't end this post without including the question that was posed to me the other day by Abby, the 5-yr-old girl I babysit for:

"Can you make me a penis milkshake?"

HAH! I was sure to give her a stern look, though I was having a hard time not busting out in laughter. Kids really do say the darndest things... can't wait to see what kind of inappropriate nonsense will come from our kiddies.
