so, ever since peony season began, i have been searching florists and markets obsessively,
but i couldn't seem to find a single one. they seemed nowhere to be found...
i hadn't even spotted them in a garden.
that is until this past sunday, our wedding anniversary :)
we were walking to kensington market in toronto, when i noticed from the corner of my eye a peony bush growing in someone's front garden.
i squealed with excitement. it was so special to have had my first
"sighting" on that particular day,
as peonies were our primary wedding flower.
to my sheer and utter delight,
i found a gorgeous bouquet of peonies waiting for me on my parents' kitchen
counter when we returned from our trip. their neighbor had picked them
from her garden for me because she knew
how much i love them.
how perfect.
they smell amazing and have bloomed beautifully.
these vibrant roses from our rose bush joined the photo-taking party.
oh how i love fresh flowers around the house!
especially when they picked right out of the garden.
what kinds of flowers make your heart sing?

Yay! I'm so glad you finally got your peonies! I think I'm heading over to Trader Joe's tonight to get some more(if they still have them, that is!). :)Happy anniversary Meg!

so sweet! so beautiful! Happy Friday! Have a great sunny weekend!
Peonies are some of the prettiest flowers! We can't grow them around here (heat, I think), but looking at pictures is always nice.
Poppies are favorites of mine, as well as succulents. Are succulents considered flowers? Just plants, I guess. But still beautiful.
Those two are my wedding flowers for my imaginary wedding :)
Oh I love peonies. They are one of my favorites along with hydrangea, ranunculus and anenomies. Lovely.
I love dahlias and zinnias. Trader joe's has the zinnias and peonies right now, and they are AMAZING. The peonies fill the house with a wonderful smell throughout the day :) beauitful wedding day!
