{Studio M.M.E. interview & giveaway}

i am delighted to bring to introduce you to the super talented Megan of Studio M.M.E.! her pen & ink illustrations are full of whimsy & nostalgia, pulling you into the limitless imaginations of children. they are so magical!

1. Tell us a little about yourself ::
I'm a quirky pen and ink illustrator who last year left frigid North Dakota for the sunny California coast.  In between slathering on sunscreen, I also work as a freelance writer for national magazines.  When I'm not writing or drawing silly things, I'm reading business books or playing with antique cameras.

{"Who's the Fool?"}

2. What inspired you to start Studio M.M.E.?
Haha, that's a funny story.  When I told my parents that I was going to major in art and creative writing, they were extremely supportive.  My mother just had the stipulation that I had to start a business before I graduated.  So that's how Studio M.M.E. was born in my senior year at college.

{"If Fishes Were Wishes"}
3. Do you have a day job or do you do Studio M.M.E. full-time?  Either way, what challenges has this presented?Right now Studio M.M.E. is only my part-time job.  I also work as an associate editor for Create Hype, a company that helps creative entrepreneurs learn to successfully market themselves.  Sometimes it's hard to juggle all of my responsibilities but I always have a bottom line of things that must be done.  Some things I just have to say no to, like doing the laundry or going on a trip to San Francisco for the day.

{"The Goose Room"}

4. What is your favorite item that you sell?
It's really silly but my favorite item is always the last one I illustrated.  So, presently, my favorite piece is "Meowby Dick".
{"Feeding the Moon"}

5. What are you listening to these days?
I realized recently that all of my favorite bands have one thing in common: great narration.  So currently my Itunes is full of Irish folk music from Gaelic Storm, the Decemberists, Florence and the Machine, and Andrew Bird.

{Limited Edition :: "Keeper of the Jackalopes"}
